The four-time German champion from SV Dortelweil lost to the twelfth seeded Thai Busanan Ongbamrungphan (No. 12) after 1:26 hours 22:20, 16:21, 20:22. The individual competitions continue without German participation.
Lambsfuss celebrates twice
On the other hand, European Champion Mark Lamsfuss had a successful day. Together with Isabel Lohau he won in three sets in the mixed game against the Japanese Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito. In doubles, he and his club colleague Marvin Seidel easily defeated the Scots Christopher and Matthew Grimley. Lamsfuss/Seidel won EM gold in April.
