The 36-year-old president faces increasing scrutiny from the media and the opposition for having leaked images of him singing and dancing among friends
The Prime Minister of FinlandSanna Marin, has given a negative result in the anti-drug test to which she underwent after receiving criticism from the opposition when a video filtered by social networks in which he appears at a party with friends. “The test of drugs made to the prime minister, sanna marinon August 19, 2022, he has not found any drugs”, can be read on the official website of the Government.
The Finnish leader appears in the recording dancing with different public figures of the country, among them the deputy Ilmari Nurminen, of the Social Democratic Party, as well as the presenters Tinni Wikstrom and Karoliina Tuominen, or the ‘influencer’ Janita Autio.
Marin defended that “he has a family life, a work life” and “free time” that he spends with friends, and expressed his disappointment at the spread of this video on social networks. “I’m sorry they got published,” she added.
Opposition controversy and criticism
Marin, 36, faces increasing scrutiny from the media and the pressure from political opponents after the video came to light but it has not stayed that way. New footage emerged Friday showing Marin in a nightclub dancing intimately with a man who was not her husband.

“I have never used drugs in my life, not even in my younger years,” said Marin, who confirmed the authenticity of the videos leaked to reporters last Friday. “I wish we lived in a society where my word could be trusted. But when suspicions like this come up, that’s why I got these tests.”
Finnish news agency STT reported earlier in the day that Marin was no longer on summer vacation at the time she was filmed partying with her friends with no replacement appointed to take over the prime minister’s duties. “I will not let anyone blackmail me, under any circumstances with any material,” Marin said, reiterating her discomfort at the leaking of the images. “I had free time and I spent it with my friends and I didn’t do anything illegal.”
