Today’s film, completed in 2016 Street Cat Bob based on of James Bowen to an autobiographical bestseller. Bob is a street-raised cat who shows up on Bowen’s doorstep just as he sets out to get his life in order. The street musician’s goal is a drug-free life – and a roof over his head. Slowly but surely, Bob restores Bowen’s faith in life.

The touching – and best awarded in 2017 – British film was directed by Roger Spottiswoode and produced by Adam Rolston. Bowen had a real fight with the latter a couple of years ago, when the sequel to Katukatti Bobi was in the works. Before Bob’s Christmas: The cat who brought the Christmas spirit had time to publish, Bob the cat died at the age of 14 after being hit by a car. Shortly after the tragedy, Bowen set up a fundraising campaign on a crowdfunding platform with the aim of getting a memorial statue for his pet. At that time, Rolston approached him privately and said he suspected the campaign was fraudulent. The background was a previous similar crowdfunding project, which was somewhat confusing. The collected funds were intended to establish a cat cafe. However, it was never opened and those who participated in the financing did not receive it The Daily Mail according to their investments back. Bowen’s defenders said that the money eventually went to different charities.

Bowen also applied for funding for his wedding with his bride.

Bowen publicly responded to the allegations by claiming that Rolston, among other things, had abused her. At the same time, the content of Rolston’s private messages became known to everyone. The deal was ready and soon threats of legal aid started pouring in. Then, almost two years ago, James Bowen released a joint statement from him and Adam Rolston. According to it, surprisingly, there were no grounds for a lawsuit and the hatchets were buried – at least publicly, right under the announcement of the second movie. That too was quite successful.
