Shot putters Krista Tervo and Silja Kosonen are confident before Tuesday’s qualifying.
In the women’s shot put in recent years, the overwhelming number one in Poland Anita Wlodarczyk is out due to injury, Finnish women have a game open even for the European Championship.
Krista Tervo with his record of 74.40 is the third best among those present in this season’s statistics and Silja Kosonen (72.22) eighth.
– I’m going to get the medal, says Tervo.
– It would be cool to be on the podium. When you throw well, it’s quite possible, says Kosonen.
Moukari is a very sensitive sport, and when several athletes are physically quite close to each other, the condition between the ears is very decisive in the medal round of prestigious competitions.
– The pressure comes mainly from myself. I am the hardest on myself. And it’s willpower at the same time. This medal opportunity is a really nice setup. When I was younger, I couldn’t even consider such a thing realistic, and even at the World Championships I knew that a medal requires really strong success, Tervo commented.
– I’m looking forward to the games. The rink is good and we have a good team. Take it easy, says Kosonen.

Tuesday is the first measure of mental certainty, when the women fly the leka in the European Championship qualifying competition in Munich.
The final limit is a tough 72.50, but according to estimates, 69–70 meters is enough for the top twelve.
At the World Championships in Eugene, both Finns passed the first trial by fire and made it to the final.
– After that, I got the feeling that I could get through the qualification. It’s a much more relaxed feeling to go throw. I’m going to really enjoy what I’m doing, when the basics are enough, says Tervo.
Taking into account the previous races of this season and the athletes’ mood in the last few weeks, Tervo has the ability to race with a button performance on top of 75 meters in Bavaria and 73–74 meters in Kosose.
Kosonen is a more reliable competitor, but Tervo currently has a little more potential for a long arc.
Tervo’s challenge is fluctuating technology, as the difference between good and bad performance is significant.
– It’s just a lot of work. For example, I can’t keep the pressure low when throwing, so I can’t run out of the top of the feet. It eats power. But the situation can change even during the competition, he says.
– During the competition season, there has been a lot of talk about strengthening the technique, so I’m really looking forward to the training season, when we start working, the athlete continues.
