Last weekend, F1 legend Kimi Räikkönen drove a test day at the Virginia speedway with the cars of the Trackhouse Racing team.
Trackhouse Racing team manager assured Räikkönen By Justin Marksbut also his teammates by Daniel Suarez.
– That went well. I’ve tried to learn as much as possible from him because he’s an incredible racer, Suarez said For Motorsport.com.
– He had fun, and he’s not here just for fun, but because he’s a competitor and wants to do well.
However, Suarez reminded that the race can be a completely different story, although he does not doubt the Iceman’s speed.
– He will be fast. But the race will be a process, because it doesn’t matter how much you practice on the simulator or drive tests, the race is always a race.
– It’s different, and he doesn’t know how other drivers race, how aggressive they are.
Suarez says that getting used to the race can take time.
– You can bring the world’s best driver and still it would take some time to get used to the race. He’ll still be good.
According to Suarez, Räikkönen will be at the Watkins Glen track in the deep end of the Nascar Cup series.
– Race, restarts, taking care of tires and brakes, pit stops… This part will be a process for him because he has not done these things in this series.
– I try to guide him as much as possible and I think he tries to prepare as well as possible.
Räikkönen will drive one race in the Nascar Cup series on the 21st at the Watkins Glen track.
