In a recent study, we were able to detect an increase in the intention to start or create businesses on the part of many people who began to live from their passions and/or hobbies. Prior to the pandemic, it was a theme that had been growing, but with this event the intention rose considerably. During 2022, from the consulting firm Jsansalone, we carried out a study with 463 entrepreneurs and businessmen to understand their reasons for starting and creating companies. The results showed that the main reasons for this are:
1) Intention to generate more income.
2) Seek to live from dreams.
3) Loss of jobs.
In this study, we also validate that the vast majority of startup owners do not have the necessary knowledge to overcome the main steps of a business or that they are born with very low ceilings by category. The experience of working with many of these groups tells us that a business that does not have a very clear differential, that is supported by innovative technology and that cannot have a large percentage of the operation that can be automated, is going to cost much more to grow.
We can point out that, by applying the following steps and with a lot of focus, it is possible to have very rapid growth in just three months in a given business:
1) Understand the audience of your business very well. Ask them what they want you to give them.
2) You don’t have to sell the product to your audience, you have to sell the differential benefits of your product and your own product.
3) That your marketing sells the next step of the purchase process, not the sale itself.
4) If people don’t know that your product exists they will never buy it, make sure that people know that your product exists.
5) Explain very well what your product does, you have to make people know that your product changes their lives, if you achieve it, you will not need to sell, they will want to buy from you.
6) Structure a very well defined sales process, to easily predict your sales.
7) Do not hire people who are not very aligned to the resource you need. Do your searches well to get elite resources.
8) If you don’t understand the numbers of your business, you won’t be able to grow because you won’t know what to do. The numbers tell you what to do with a business.
9) Surround yourself with the best in each area, so you have no way to fail.
