US clothing company Lions Not Sheep, known for its overt statements of support for former US President Donald Trump and popular with US conservatives, has been fined for using clothing labels with factually misrepresentations, the Washington reports Post citing a report by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Lions Not Sheep clothing labels said “Made in the USA” while the clothing was imported from China. The original “Made in China” labels have been replaced with the brand, according to the FTC.
As a result of the forgery, Lions Not Sheep has to pay a fine of over 212 thousand US dollars (about 200 thousand euros). The brand was also asked to stop selling clothing with fake tags.
The brand responded to the allegations in an Instagram post with the caption: “Our t-shirts are printed in the USA! Our hats are embroidered in the USA. I’m proud to have spent blood, sweat, and tears building a business that employs dozens of hard-working Americans out of a single t-shirt.”
