Today, Wednesday, the official funeral service for Uwe Seeler (✝︎85) will take place in the Volksparkstadion, organized by the Free Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., the celebration begins at 2:00 p.m. Many HSV fans and citizens of Hamburg will pay their last respects to Seeler.
There will also be around 1000 invited guests! According to BILD information, some will be on site at the explicit request of the Seeler family.
It is the first official funeral service in the city of Hamburg in a stadium. A novelty! The farewell was organized in close cooperation between the Seeler family, HSV and the DFB.

- Rudi Völler (ex-soccer player)
- Oliver Bierhoff (ex-soccer player and DFB director)
- Frank Pagelsdorf (ex-coach)
- Hans-Dieter Flick (national coach)
- Peggy Parnass (actress, columnist, reporter)
