Saye is on a mission to guide people towards a more conscious lifestyle and provide an alternative to the conventional footwear industry so we can preserve both our style and our planet. Saye has made it its mission to offer clothing and shoes that are made from high quality and sustainable materials.
origins
Saye was founded in 2018 in Spain’s capital Barcelona through a successful Kickstarter campaign. The label was able to launch 7,000 pairs of sneakers and became the most funded Spanish fashion project on Kickstarter.
When Saye started, it had one goal in mind: to create timeless sneakers and use them as a medium for change. Saye uses innovative, bio-based and recycled materials to manufacture the sneakers, and transparency also plays a major role in production.
Saye has made it a priority to work with suppliers who share their values and who value and respect their employees, improve their living conditions and provide them with a safe work environment.
development
In 2022, Saye decided to only make shoes from vegan materials, in addition to bio-based materials like bamboo, corn, organic cotton, recycled thermoplastics and more – because the brand always strives with its products to do as little damage to the planet as possible burden.
Saye has worked with suppliers like Fruitleather Rotterdam, who produce an innovative material from discarded mangoes. This material can be found in the brand’s iconic M’89 Vegan Mango shoes.
The ’89 model is the shoe that started it all for Saye. Thanks to its clean look and comfort, the sneaker is timeless and still a customer favourite. However, the brand is always striving to evolve and improve to create the most sustainable and innovative sneakers.
Current
Saye’s mission is to give something back to the planet. To fight deforestation and support forest-dependent communities, the label, in partnership with NGO We Forest, funds the growth of two trees for every pair of sneakers sold. 200,000 trees have already been planted in the Amazon region, Australia, India and Zambia.
The label’s newest product, the ’65 Vegan, is crafted from super-lightweight canvas and created for summer with color options of garnet, lime, orange and purple.
