WorldTour race: Bauhaus third in Krakow – Hayter wins Tour of Poland

Cyclist Phil Bauhaus narrowly missed his second victory of the day on the final day of the 79th Tour of Poland.

After 177.8 kilometers from Valsir to Kraków, the 28-year-old from Bocholter had to be satisfied with third place behind the French day winner Arnaud Démare and the Dutchman Olav Kooij. Max Kanter sprinted as the second best German in fourth place, Pascal Ackermann was ninth. Bauhaus had won the fifth section before Démare.

Ethan Hayter overall winner

The overall victory of the seven-day World Tour was secured by the Briton Ethan Hayter, who took over the yellow jersey from the overall leader on Thursday after the mountain time trial of the sixth stage. The best German in the end was 19-year-old Marco Brenner in twelfth place, 51 seconds behind Hayter. Before Bauhaus, Ackermann had ensured a German day’s success on the fourth day.
