Los Angeles band Warpaint have announced a new album after a six-year hiatus. RADIATE LIKE THIS is scheduled for release on May 6, 2022. A first single is already available – listen to Warpaint’s song “Champion” here.
It’s been pretty quiet around the four-piece band lately. As with all musicians, the pandemic initially thwarted their musical plans. Added to this were solo albums, occasional tours as well as intercontinental and nationwide moves, which probably turned the band’s existence together upside down. But despite all the challenges, Emily Kokal, Jenny Lee Lindberg, Stella Mozgawa and Theresa Wayman found each other again.
Originally, after their album HEAD UP, released in 2016, a completely different one should have been planned. Her new song “Champion” is about “being a champion for yourself and for others.” Adding Warpaint says: “We’re all in the same boat, life is too short not to strive for excellence in everything, to strive for what we do.”
In addition to their own headlining tours, Warpaint can also look back on concert appearances alongside Vampire Weekend and The XX. If you can’t wait to finally see the band live again, you won’t have to wait too long – hopefully – here either. The four women have concerts planned for May and June in Germany and the UK. In Germany, concerts are to take place in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. Presented by Musikexpress.
