Nationally, the number of fines for water violations also fell, from 4,845 in 2020 to 3,777 a year later. Most fines were handed out to speeding offenders, such as speedboats. A relatively large number of fines have also been handed out for the lack of a dead man’s button, for sailing with a boat with too few life jackets and for sailing without a license.
