Frans Bauer throws applesauce on all his food, even the dishes he gets from the Chinese. The folk singer tells this in an interview with the public broadcaster. “Really.”
The NPO also has a channel on which music of all kinds of folk types is played: Sterren NL. Frans Bauer is one of the biggest stars in this genre and that is why the station subjects him to an extensive interview. In this the folk singer confesses that he throws applesauce on all his food.
Apple sauce
Presenter Emilie Sleven subjects Frans to a lively fire of questions. “What do you and Maris like so much from the Netherlands that you will take with you in your suitcase when you can go on holiday again later?”
Frans candidly: “Well, those are three things. Sprinkles, then my strawberry jam goes along, seriously, and – you won’t believe it: my applesauce. Yes really. My applesauce.”
‘Now cut it!’
Emilie: “But where do you eat all that applesauce?”
Frans: “With everything. I can’t eat without applesauce. I am probably the only Dutch person who also throws applesauce on his Chinese food.
Emilie: “Now cut it!”
Frans: “No, really. For real. I can’t get it off otherwise.”
