Flemish Minister for Society Bart Somers (Open VLD) is making 25 million euros available for local authorities that set up projects to close the digital opportunities gap. He announced this in a press release on Thursday. He points out that 68 percent of low-income people do not have the necessary basic digital skills and that the most vulnerable are at risk of falling behind in a society that is rapidly digitizing.
