Henk Veerman returns to FC Volendam. The 31-year-old striker comes over from FC Utrecht and signs a contract for three years. After a seven-year absence, the tall striker is back at De Dijk.

Veerman played for FC Utrecht in the past six months. The Domstedelingen took over from Sankt Pauli in January, where Veerman scored frequently at the second level in Germany. At FC Utrecht, Veerman had little insight into playing minutes after the arrival of Bas Dost and Daishawn Redan. It is unknown how much money Volendam will deposit for the striker.

It is surprising that Volendam ends up with Veerman. As striker, Wim Jonk has had Robert Mühren at his disposal since last summer and there are also plenty of options on the flanks with Daryl van Mieghem, Ibrahim El Kadiri and Bilal Ould-Chikh. An option could still be to post Mühren as an attacking midfielder with Veerman in the striker.

Veerman started his professional career at FC Volendam in 2013. After two excellent seasons in the first division, he earned a transfer to sc Heerenveen and then played there for three years.
