At the end of June, he won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche Mikko Rantanen spend his day on Saturday with the legendary round prize.
However, the celebration in his home town of Nousiain took an embarrassing turn, as Rantanen slipped the trophy from his hands in a potentially fatal way.
Rantanen arrived at the party on a fire engine. In the Avalanche’s hometown of Denver, players were also given a ride in the championship parade in the same way.
The jerky slowing down of the fire truck made Rantas stagger, but luckily for him the trophy didn’t fall from a height to the ground.
