Final details to be clarified
Fenerbahce Istanbul have all but confirmed their tenth signing for the upcoming season. On Tuesday, the Süper Lig club announced the agreement in principle with Flamengo Rio de Janeiro on the transfer of Gustavo Henrique. The 29-year-old central defender will travel to the Turkish metropolis in the evening for final details and will then sign his contract.
Henrique is leaving his native Brazil for the first time. Until 2020 he played at youth club FC Santos, then two and a half years at Flamengo. There the 1.96 meter tall right foot met coach Jorge Jesus, who has been with Fenerbahce since this summer. Together they both won the Recopa Sudamericana, the Supercopa do Brasil and the Campeonato Carioca, Henrique was used in all five finals (statistics).
