TSG 1899 Hoffenheim has signed the Turkish national soccer player Ozan Kabak from FC Schalke 04. This was announced by both Bundesliga clubs.

The defender still had a high-paying contract with Schalke until 2024 and will now receive a contract in Kraichgau until June 30, 2026. Nothing was known about the modalities of the transfer. According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, the transfer fee for the 22-year-old who was last loaned to Norwich City is around five million euros.

“It was clear that we were interested in a separation under the given circumstances. We are therefore happy that we were able to achieve a fair solution for all sides with the transfer – we as a club on the economic side and the player on the sporting side.” , said Schalke’s sporting director Rouven Schröder. Schröder found that the previous loan sums in combination with the transfer fee had created an economically good overall package.

The defensive specialist, who has played 17 international matches for Turkey, appeared in a total of 55 Bundesliga games for VfB Stuttgart and Schalke. Loans to Liverpool and Norwich also saw him make 20 Premier League appearances.
