– I have not recovered from the corona diseases I contracted at the beginning of May and at the end of June, Korte wrote.

– Just when, at the end of June, it finally started to feel like I was starting to recover from the first Corona, the second Corona came and the heart rate variability collapsed even more and the heart rates went completely crazy.

This year, the 34-year-old Korte fell far short of his level in recent years. The best time of the season was 13.10, which was run in Lahti at the end of May.

Korte sought a place at the European Championships in Munich in August.

Kortte’s 12.72 run in Joensuu in 2019 is still the valid Finnish record for women’s 100-meter hurdles.

Korte said in the publication that he will continue his career until the end of 2024.
