With the march, the other category in which Mercury participates, the Asser show band visits various countries around the world. “Then our show is called ‘Marches Of The World’. We do different marches from all over the world, such as American, English, Czech and Dutch. That’s how we go all over the world during our march.”
It is Mercury’s first time participating in the WMC. In 2019 they won the Open Dutch Championship and that, according to Van Dorst, left us wanting more. “This is a nice next step. Some members have participated with other bands. We are getting better at what we do. It’s not about profit for us this weekend either. But we go for the experience and we want to do something beautiful together put down.”
The band hopes they have a nice weekend this weekend and put on a good show. “That we can be proud again on the bus on Sunday evening, but above all have managed to entertain the public,” says Van Dorst.
The march is scheduled for tomorrow and the show will follow on Sunday. Then the result follows.
