In Oss, another house was shot at around two o’clock on Thursday night. This time it hit the Vijversingel. This is in the same neighborhood where two other houses have been shelled in recent days. The fourth house that has been shelled is located on the Veekraal.
The front door of the house that was shot at on Vijversingel was damaged, but no one was injured. Whether there is a connection with the earlier shelling in Oss is being investigated, the police said.
Series of shelling
Exactly a week ago the series of shelling started. Then a house on Merelstraat came under fire. The inhabitant of this house had passed away once before. That is why local residents took a mistake into account.
A night later it was hit at a house on the Veekraal and on Wednesday morning another house on the Meelstraat was shot at.
‘They only stop when someone is dead’
Local residents wonder if there is a connection between the shelling and the death of 23-year-old Mo. He was shot dead in April on the Leeuwerikhof, near his house, while he was riding his scooter. The Leeuwerikhof is located in the same neighborhood as the houses that have been shelled in recent days.
Some local residents prefer to move out of this neighborhood as soon as possible. “They don’t stop here. They don’t stop until someone is dead.”
To ensure that residents feel safer in their neighbourhood, mayor Wobine Buijs promised to deploy more boas and police.
