The municipality of Hoogeveen is putting the former school building on Lomanlaan up for sale. Rental housing must be built on the site.
The complex changes hands for a minimum of 370,000 euros. The main building of the school must be preserved.
The building has been empty for years and has been inhabited in recent years as anti-squat. Special education was provided for this.
Housing corporation Domesta already made plans for the former school building in 2021, together with the municipality. The idea is that a total of 19 homes will be built on the complex of almost 3,800 square meters: 15 apartments and studios and 4 single-family homes.
The corporation is one of the interested parties and wants a mix of young families, single elderly and young people with a backpack. “This new form of living makes it possible to live independently by using each other’s talents.”
Other interested parties can also apply in the coming weeks.
