Also for Liège & Red Star FC
Johannes Spors, former chief scout of TSG Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Hamburger SV, has been promoted to a senior sporting management position in the “777 Football Group”. The group of the US investment company “777 Partners” holds, among other things, the majority in the Italian second division club Genoa CFC, where the 39-year-old has been in charge of sporting fortunes since December 2021. According to a press release, Marco Ottolini, who previously worked as a scout at Juventus Turin, will take over his post at the “Grifoni”.
In the future, Spors will report directly to Don Dransfield, CEO of the “777 Football Group” and will preside over the sports directors of the associated clubs, including Ottolini. In addition to Genoa, where Spors brought the German coach Alexander Blessin, “777 Partners” also holds the majority in the traditional Belgian club Standard Liège, the Parisian club Red Star FC and shares in FC Sevilla. 70 percent of the Brazilian club Vasco da Gama are to be acquired shortly.
