EA Sports has unveiled the cover of FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition, the “luxury” version of the game, which will feature Mbappé and Kerr.
EA Sports has had many iconic footballers on the covers of its FIFA franchise over the years, but FIFA 23 will have a debut. Men’s football and women’s football, side by side, for the first time. French superstar Kylian Mbappé will return to the cover of FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition, the 30th installment of the series, along with Australia and Chelsea striker Sam Kerr, and this is certainly destined to get fans talking.
The inclusion of Kylian Mbappé is his third consecutive appearance on the coverhaving occupied the prestigious position of cover star of the best-selling football game in the world already on FIFA 21 and FIFA 22. Not only has he won the championship with PSG, but is ready to defend the World Cup as defending champion once that the World Cup will start in Qatar in December.
However, it is the inclusion of Sam Kerr on the cover of FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition to have surprised fans of women’s football, with the Australian becoming the first player to be included on the global cover (Alex Morgan was included on the American one of FIFA 16).
Who is Sam Kerr? –
Those of you already following women’s football will know Sam Kerr for his dominant performances in the FA Women’s Super League with Chelsea and as captain of the Australian national team, known as the Matildas. The 28-year-old striker has racked up dozens of titles and awards, scoring crucial goals with every appearance.
Sam Kerr played in Australia and the United States before signing with Chelsea in the 2019/2020 season. With the blues shirt, she was twice the top scorer in the club, scoring 32 goals in 34 games in 2021/22 and being awarded as FAWSL Player of the Season and Golden Shoe. With her accomplishment, Chelsea secured their sixth women’s title and fourth Women’s FA Cup. On the international stage, Kerr made her debut with Australia. at just 15 years old, scoring his first goal at 16 against North Korea. Since then, he has amassed over 100 appearances for his country. With the Women’s World Cup set to take place in summer 2023 in Australia and New Zealand, it looks like Sam Kerr is set to have another phenomenal season.
FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition, what it is and when it comes out –
FIFA 23 promises to be the biggest and best game ever, with fans eagerly awaiting the new release of the series. The Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23 is the premium edition of the game – past versions have included bonus content, FIFA Points and exclusive in-game items, along with an early release for fans aiming to play FIFA 23 before release official. The cover of FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition also anticipates the inclusion of the technology HyperMotion 2. No official details have been released yet but fans with next-gen consoles had already enjoyed the benefits of the first iteration of HyperMotion last year, with advanced use of motion capture that improved the behavior of players with and without the ball.
It is good to note that FIFA 23 is the thirtieth and final chapter of the collaboration between EA and FIFA, which have failed to find an agreement to continue the fruitful partnership. After FIFA 23, Electronic Arts will continue to publish the game under the title EA Sports FC, and FIFA has announced its intention to collaborate with other developers to make titles under the brand of the international federation. FIFA isn’t the only EA Sports franchise fans are looking forward to this year. Madden 23 has already been announced and will be available on August 19th. There is no news yet, however, for NHL 23. Further news and details on FIFA 23 will be available in the coming weeks. FIFA 23 is scheduled for September on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PC, Stadia, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
