Offers also from Germany

Last summer, Robert Zulj left VfL Bochum thanks to a €350,000 buyout clause and followed Al-Ittihad Kalba SC’s lucrative call to the UAE Pro League. After a year, the time in the United Arab Emirates is already over. The 30-year-old forward has announced his departure from Al Ittihad Kalba, for whom he was directly involved in 15 goals in 27 games.
Update July 17, 6:17 p.m.: Three days after the termination of the contract in the Emirates, Zulj was presented as a newcomer to LASK in Austria, where he signed a working paper until 2025. “Being able to play for LASK after my stints abroad is something very special for me as an Upper Austrian. Despite several offers – also from the German Bundesliga – sports director Vujanovic and President Gruber were able to convince me of what is happening here at LASK. I’m looking forward to starting with the team,” said Zulj.

The 30-year-old had previously written on Instagram about his contract termination: “Thank you for the unique experience over the past year. I wish the club, the fans and especially the whole team the best for the future. And I am sure that you will win the league title in the future.” Last winter the Austrian openly toyed with a return to Bochum.
