People on their way to their holiday destination have to take traffic jams into account on a number of roads abroad. The ANWB reported on the basis of the French traffic information service Bison Futé that there was 818 km of traffic jam in France around 12:00, but that the crowds are now decreasing somewhat. Traffic will probably be much better by 4 p.m. and the traffic jams are expected to be resolved by 6 p.m.

In France it is, among other things, busy on the A7 between Lyon and Avignon. The delay there is about an hour and a half. The A10 south of Tours towards Bordeaux is also very busy, with approximately two hours extra travel time.

In Germany it is very busy on the route Ulm-Füssen-Reutte towards Austria via the A7 and the B179. The delay there is almost an hour. There is a lot of traffic on the A10 (Tauern Autobahn) in Austria between Bischofshofen and Sankt Michael im Lungau. The delay there is two hours.

Switzerland

Holidaymakers in Switzerland driving south to the Gotthard tunnel on the A2 should also expect a two-hour delay. An ANWB spokeswoman also says that it is remarkably busy on the roads in Slovenia and Croatia. On the A9 from Croatia to Slovenia, traffic has to take into account almost two hours of extra travel time. In the other direction there is a delay of about half an hour.

Many people are also on the road in Italy. There are traffic jams in various places on the A22 from Bolzano to Verona and the extra travel time is approximately 45 minutes. On the A14 between Bologna and Rimini, the delay is one and a half hours.
