Tom Beugelsdijk is coming to Helmond Sport. According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, among others, the experienced defender will sign for three years. Earlier this week, something about the Helmond transfer leaked.
“Passport matters still need to be sorted out,” Helmond Sport technical manager Louis Coolen told ESPN. “I think we’ll make a good move tomorrow,” he continued, hinting at a contract signing on Saturday.

Helmond Sport previously attracted midfielder Peter van Ooijen. The former PSV player has signed until 2024.
Gambling and icon
Earlier this month, Beugelsdijk was suspended for five matches because of online gambling on Dutch football matches.
Two matches of the settlement proposal, which Beugelsdijk has agreed to, are conditional. He was found not guilty of match fixing.
Incidentally, Beugelsdijk did not only make a name in the past as a rock-hard defender. The 31-year-old Hagenaar is seen in The Hague as a cult icon, partly because of his statements in interviews.
