Driver reacts to accident in which 17-year-old boy died

A 17-year-old boy was killed in an accident in Lombardsijde near Middelkerke on Wednesday on Thursday. The boy was riding a scooter near a campsite and was hit by a car. This is confirmed by the public prosecutor’s office of West Flanders.

Hit or run over?

In an interview, Mayor Jean-Marie Dedecker said a 38-year-old woman hit or ran over the boy while intoxicated. “It is still unclear whether the woman hit or ran over the boy. Legally that will make a big difference.” (Read more below the video)
