DFB women have to do without coach Voss-Tecklenburg

Before the meeting with Finland in the last group game, the DFB women have to do without their coach. She is absent due to illness.

National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has to take it easy two days before the final group game of the German soccer team. Because of a migraine, the 54-year-old was absent from training on Thursday morning in London-Brentford, but she should be ready for action again after the duel with Finland on Saturday (9 p.m., in the live ticker on t-online) in Milton Keynes.

The national coach already had circulatory problems after the game against Spain. She told “Bild”: “I was down for a moment after the game and also had to eat a little sugar. That worked out well. I also fought on the sidelines. I didn’t run as many meters as the players, but I also tried to give everything.”

Magull was also absent from training

The slightly injured Lina Magull (thigh problems) was also absent from the unit and instead trained in the weight room. Sydney Lohmann (knee problems) completed an individual program after missing the Spain game. After beating Denmark (4-0) and Spain (2-0) as early winners of Group B, the DFB selection is already safely in the quarter-finals (July 21).

Since last Monday morning, the DFB women have had to do without striker Lea Schüller. She tested positive for Corona. Captain Alexandra Popp was previously caught in the training camp in Herzogenaurach. She was finally back on the pitch.
