“Hats off, @DFB_Frauen! Great defense and great effectiveness! Congratulations!” Wrote the 2014 world champion on Twitter. The 37-year-old put a trophy behind the sentence “You can do it”.
CEO Oliver Kahn from FC Bayern Munich also liked the appearance of DFB women against Spain. “Pure efficiency,” tweeted the former world goalkeeper on Wednesday. “What a tactical performance by the DFB women. Congratulations on winning and making it into the quarter-finals.” National player Thomas Müller also congratulated him via social media.
After beating Spain 2-0 in the second group game, the DFB women have reached the quarter-finals of the European Championship in England.
