A medal from the president, a coloring book from the stewardess: US star Simone Biles experienced a strange surprise on the plane.
That doesn’t happen to a world star every day: The world-famous gymnast Simone Biles received a coloring book for children from a flight attendant when boarding the plane in Washington DC. “I said no thanks I’m 25 years old,” Biles wrote on Instagram.
Other flight attendant wants to de-escalate
Just a few hours earlier, on Thursday evening, she became the youngest person in history to be honored with the Medal of Freedom by US President Joe Biden in person at the White House. The most successful World Cup participant in history took the incident on the plane with humor: Along with the saying, Biles posted a selfie in her Instagram story, where she looked at the camera in disbelief.
Shortly thereafter, another flight attendant tried to save the situation and offered her a cocktail, Biles reported. Before that, however, the woman had made sure that the passenger was really of legal age.
