Along with the band The Alive, Shane Hawkins performed the Foo Fighters song “My Hero” as a drummer at a local festival.
The performance took place on the roof of a garage. When The Alive played the Foo Fighters song, the fans in front of the garage immediately initiated a mosh pit. The Alive thanked them in one Instagram post To her community and the police: “Thanks to the Laguna Beach community, the police (for not stopping us), @spliffriff_ and the @marcusskenderian family. Special thanks to @shane_hawkins_22 for participating.”
The Alive
Teenage band The Alive was formed in California. The three young band members Bastian Evans and Kai and Manoa Neukermans are enthusiastic surfers and skaters. The Alive previously performed with Taylor Hawkins’ cover band Chevy Metal in 2018. 27 years ago on July 4, 1995, the Foo Fighters released their eponymous debut album. However, the song “My Hero” was only released on the follow-up album THE COLOR AND THE SHAPE. Taylor Hawkins joined the band’s touring line-up for this album.
Tribute to Taylor Hawkins
Taylor Hawkins died at the age of 50 (here is our obituary) in spring 2022 in a hotel in the Colombian capital Bogotá. Hawkins previously complained of chest pains. Posthumously, various substances were detected in his blood. In September this year, the Foo Fighters, together with the family of Taylor Hawkins, plan to hold two tribute concerts in honor of the drummer in London and Los Angeles.
