The plaque covered by the tricolor is discovered by Enrico Odorico, the mayor of Sequals, the Friulian town that gave birth to Primo Carnera, historic champion of the greatest, the greatest that Italy has ever had. Daniele Redaelli, former editor-in-chief of the Gazzetta dello Sport and always passionate about boxing, sports, but also social commitment (for this reason also known to the users of this blog), often attended Sequals precisely to re-tie the threads of that memory of when Carnera returned to Italy. And as often happened to Daniele, wherever he went he left a deep mark on the people he knew and met. Whether we were talking about boxing gloves, as in this case, whether we were talking about the last, Paralympic sport or dinners. And if you met Daniele once, you would hardly forget him, even after a long, long time. It also happened with the people of Sequals and with its mayor who had this project since the day Daniele left at the end of December 2017. The covid has lengthened the time, but not watered down the memory and now it is The moment has come on the day in which Sequals dedicates the usual boxing meeting to the great Friulian champion. An appointment that Daniele would not have missed even this year. And since yesterday his name remains inextricably linked to Sequals and Carnera, given that the plaque was placed right in the square in front of the villa of the champion’s family. Forever Daniele Redaelli.
