Today, Tuesday (July 5, 2022), the Red Hot Chili Peppers are playing at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne as part of their world tour. We have all the information about the show at a glance.
Red Hot Chili Peppers on tour
Their world tours take the Chili Peppers to 32 cities around the world. It began on June 4th at the Estadio La Cartuja in Seville and will take the band to Cologne on July 5th. Other destinations include Paris, Hamburg, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York before the tour concludes in Arlington, Texas on September 18th.
This year’s tour sees the Red Hot Chili Peppers reuniting with guitarist John Frusciante. Accordingly, the fans can look forward to particularly energetic concerts with many hits by the band from Los Angeles.
John Frusciante makes a comeback
Frusciante was the guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers from 1988 to 1992 and from 1998 to 2008. During this period, the musicians released some of their best-known albums together, including “Californication”, “By The Way” and “Stadium Arcadium”. But in 2008, Frusciante wanted to focus on his solo career and left the group. The Red Hot Chili Peppers hired Josh Klinghoffer for him.
Admission and start of the concert
Admission begins at 6 p.m. The concert with the support acts should start around 8 p.m. The Chili Peppers have secured top-class support acts. It features rapper A$AP Rocky and bassist and music producer Thundercat.
You can also easily reach the RheinEnergieSTADION by public transport. It is best to use tram lines 1 and 7 of the Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe (KVB) or the S-Bahn lines S12 and S19. Tram line 1 stops directly at the RheinEnergieSTADION. Tram line 7 runs south of the RheinEnergieSTADION. From the “Stüttgenhof” stop, you can then walk to the venue.
You can also use the free shuttle service to the stadium. From the “Haus Vorst/Marsdorf” bus stop, a bus will take concert guests from 4 p.m. to the Südallee/Junkersdorf bus stop near the stadium. In addition, there are 7,500 parking spaces around the stadium for anyone arriving by car.
On July 5, 2022 you can expect a light cloud cover and summer temperatures of 24 degrees. With a fresh breeze, there are good conditions for the show from 6 p.m. During the evening, the temperature drops to 17 degrees – the chance of rain increases from 44% in the evening to 71% at night. So it doesn’t hurt to take a rain jacket with you.
