They investigate the appearance of a skull on a beach in Torredembarra

The Civil Guard has opened an investigation to try to identify the incomplete skull found this Saturday accidentally in a beach in the Tarragona town of Torredembarra. Police sources explain that the remains have been found about a hundred meters from the shore and four meters deep by a person who was diving this weekend at Els Muntanyans beach.

According to the Diari de Tarragona, the author of the find was diving when he saw something at the bottom of the sea and, believing it to be shells, he approached and began to remove the sand. It was at that moment that he noticed the presence of the skull. He then notified the lifeguard service, which in turn alerted the local Torredembarra police.

Agents report that, for the time being, only part of a skull has been found and that, due to its state, everything indicates that it will be difficult to identify since jaws are missing. “It’s old and incomplete”say the specialists, who have especially lamented the lack of teeth in the remains, since this could be the part from which more DNA samples can be obtained. According to TV3the bone remains will be sent to Madrid for study.

After the appearance of this mysterious skull, the Court number 7 of El Vendrellalso in the province of Tarragona, has opened a case in which the Civil Guard acts as judicial police. At the moment, no further information has been released about this case, which is still under investigation.
