Ajax did not succeed in winning its second practice match of the season. In Oldenzaal they lost 5-2 to the German Paderborn. Mohamed Ihattaren was the star on the side of the team from Amsterdam with two goals.
Paderborn, which plays at the second level in Germany, started the game strongly. Within two minutes Ajax already had to face a disadvantage after Raphael Obermair managed to pass goalkeeper Jay Gorter. However, the team of trainer Alfred Schreuder did not have to look at a backlog for long. In the fourth minute Ihattaren was the end station after a nice combination with Naci Ünüvar.
