7 World War I soldiers buried in British military cemetery
5 British soldiers, 1 German and 1 Canadian. The latter has even been identified, which is quite exceptional. It’s about John Lambert. He was only 16 years old when he went to the front. A year later he was killed in Langemark.
John will be killed in 1917 during the Third Battle of Ypres, in an attack at Langemark. He is buried in haste. They’ll pick him up later. Later, that eventually became May 2016.
“It is very exceptional that a soldier from the First World War can still be identified. This is only possible in 5% of the recovered dead”, it sounds.
