The defensive department of Inter for the present and for the future it can change its face quickly. Starting with the farewell of Skriniarthe possible arrival of Bremer and the additional options to replace Ranocchia and Kolarov are many moves that the Nerazzurri club will have to implement in the coming days. However, there is another choice that Inter will have to make immediately and will concern the future of a “luxury” redundancy: Zinho Vanheusden.
THERE IS THE ROW – Inter had counter-redeemed him from Standard Liège last summer for a figure of around 16 million euros getting him to sign a five-year contract expiring on 30 June 2026 and sending him immediately on loan to Genoa until the end of this season. On 30 June he will return to all intents and purposes owned by Inter who are however evaluating his future with many clubs that have already informed themselves for next season. Verona, Udinese, but also Spezia and Sampdoria as regards Serie A and various foreign clubs between the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 they asked for information for him not only on loan, but also outright.
FINANCIAL FIGURES – The idea is clear, at least for the moment Inter are buying time because they don’t want to leave Inzaghi uncovered at the start of the retreat and Vanheusden, hoping that the terrible injuries to his knees (and subsequently to his muscles) are now behind him, will also be able to be evaluated by the coach and the Nerazzurri staff. The real problem is that those 16 million euros in the balance sheet make its sale virtually impracticable today. It would take 12.8 million in order not to make a loss, but the Nerazzurri club has bet on him strongly, has waited for him, knows that he will be able to return to the levels of the Belgian national team (before the negative spiral he was called up by Martinez) and he does not want to “get rid of it” lightly. Basically, the most probable solution could be a loan, maybe in Serie A, but in a team that can really guarantee him space and playing time.
