US sprint star Sha’Carri Richardson also clearly missed qualifying for the 200-meter race at the World Athletics Championships.
The high-flyer was eliminated in the semi-finals of the US Trials in Eugene on Sunday and now has no chance of an individual start at the World Championships next month (July 15 to 24) in the same place.
Richardson completed the 200m in 22.47 seconds, just the 10th best time in the field. Already on Friday, the 22-year-old had to bury her hopes of starting the World Cup over the 100 meters after 11.31 seconds, which was weak for her.
Last year Richardson had won the 100 meters at the US outdoor championships. However, her dream of an Olympic medal in Tokyo was shattered after a suspension for marijuana use.
