SGE sees itself “prepared” in the storm
Eintracht Frankfurt made the transfer of Bayer Leverkusen’s Lucas Alario (29) perfect. As the Hessians announced on Friday evening, the Argentine signed a three-year contract. His contract with the “Werkself” would have expired in 2024 and is said to have included an exit clause of 6.5 million euros.
The “Bild” recently reported that the Frankfurters were trying to reduce the transfer fee for the striker. The Argentinian journalist César Luis Merlo has now reported that a sum of around 6 million euros will flow from Frankfurt to Leverkusen. Alario switched from River Plate to the “Werkself” for €19m in 2017, for whom he made a total of 164 appearances and was directly involved in 74 goals.
Götze to Jovic: The most expensive additions to Eintracht Frankfurt
“Lucas Alario has a lot of experience and showed himself to be an absolute team player in Leverkusen. In recent years he has repeatedly demonstrated his strength in scoring and he knows the Bundesliga very well. With Lucas attacking in this constellation, we see ourselves prepared for the challenges of the new season,” said Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche. Alario is the ninth commitment from Frankfurt, including Jens Petter Hauge (22) and Kristijan Jakic (25), who have been with the club for a long time after a loan.
