It’s no secret that the Meiland TV family has very little interest in people living on welfare. That is precisely why there was so much criticism of their poverty entertainment in Chateau Bijstand. Last weekend Erica Meiland looked in The Telegraph back on the program and she lashed out at some participants en passant.

Erica hurts Daisy

Erica, among other things, gave welfare mother Daisy a beating. “There was also Daisy, crushed by a horse. She had children with three different men with a half shattered pelvis. Then I think: you can also make other choices in your life. But above all, we should all find it pathetic.”

What an unkind comment, Daisy thinks. She doesn’t understand. “The Meiland family was friendly and understanding during the filming. I felt good about what was shown on television. Unfortunately I now read that Erica is less positive about me in the media. I am hurt by this but above all very disappointed,” she writes Instagram

‘Bad taste’

Daisy doesn’t understand why Erica is nice to her face, but speaks evil behind her back. “The Meiland family was friendly and understanding during the filming,” she says. “If she had or has any questions, I would have answered them with love. With the prejudices she now expresses in an interview, she completely misses the point as far as I’m concerned.”

She is deeply disappointed. “My positive feeling about the program has now turned to a bad taste. The fact that my life has been different from hers doesn’t give her the right to judge me that way, publicly.”

“Then don’t say anything!”

Erica should have kept her mouth shut, Daisy said. “Erica, especially for you, where your eyes have not been, your mouth must not speak. And besides, if you don’t have anything nice to say, then it’s better not to say anything!”

She continues: “I’m going to continue with my life on welfare and I’m making something of it. I sincerely hope that you do that yourself, and preferably without making other people feel bad!”
