After FC Porto announced at the end of last week that they had reached an agreement with Arsenal on the sale of Fábio Vieira (22), the Premier League club also officially announced completion on Tuesday. According to Gunners, the midfielder has signed a long-term contract at the Thames.
The Londoners initially did not provide any further information on the general conditions. The Portuguese champions had put the transfer fee at 40 million euros, of which 5 million euros are tied to achieving sporting success. So far this summer, only Aurélien Tchouameni (from Monaco to Real Madrid), Darwin Núñez (from Benfica to Liverpool) and Erling Haaland (from BVB to Man City) have been more expensive than Vieira, who made his breakthrough in the 2021/22 season.
