Mirko Slomka has been without a coaching job for almost three years. However, that could change soon. Because the German coach is apparently in talks in Poland.
The former Bundesliga coach
Mirko Slomka is apparently negotiating a move to 14-time Polish champions Gornik Zabrze, Lukas Podolski’s current club. This was reported by the “Bild” newspaper on Monday evening.
Slomka flew to Poland with his advisor at the weekend. At Gornik, he is still ahead of 34-year-old Bartosch Gaul from regional league club FSV Mainz 05 II as a top candidate for the coaching post that has been vacant for a week.
The 54-year-old Slomka coached FC Schalke 04 and his home club Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga. Podolski, who was born in Poland, switched to his favorite club from his youth a year ago.
