Frans Bauer is working again with songwriter Emile Hartkamp | NOW

Fifteen years ago the singers and writer parted ways, but Frans Bauer recently recorded a song again with his former regular songwriter Emile Hartkamp. And that collaboration tasted like more, the singer tells Tuesday in The Telegraph

Hartkamp wrote most of the hits from the early days of Bauer’s career, including the songs Got a moment for me, If the stars are in the sky and De Regenboog. That collaboration ended fifteen years ago.

“At some point, you make a choice to do it differently,” Bauer says. “We both went in different directions. I started writing my own songs. It’s not that we had an argument or anything, but I was ready for something different.” That changed when the singer was asked to write a song take with fan Aunt Rikie, the face of the Zwarte Cross festival.

“I knew right away that Emile had to help me with this, because he is an expert at guiding duets,” said Bauer, who says that meeting the writer and producer was emotional. “I grabbed Emile and we both started to cry. It was emotion that came out. We have expressed that we want to continue together. There are already some very nice ideas, which I will come out with soon.”
