Also 1. FC Nürnberg
VfL Bochum has apparently found what they are looking for in the Bundesliga for reinforcements for the offensive. As “sky“reported, the Revierklub is trying to sign Philipp Förster (27) from VfB Stuttgart. Accordingly, negotiations for a transfer are currently underway. According to the report, the Swabians would be ready to hand over the attacker. A fee between 500,000 and one million euros is in the room.
In addition to VfL, former club 1. FC Nürnberg is also associated with Förster, who did not play at the club in the second half of the 2016/17 season. A change of the attacking midfielder to Bochum is currently the most likely option, it is said. Förster is under contract with VfB until next year, who paid 3 million euros to SV Sandhausen in 2019. There he is still the most expensive sale in the club’s history. Since then, Förster has played 76 games for VfB, in which he contributed eight goals and seven assists.
In the past season, Förster was only rarely used in the second half of the season and mostly took a seat on the bench. Recently reported the “picture‘ via a ‘cross-off list’ at VfB, which also included the name Förster. He is one of the players who are not satisfied with their current role. Its market value fell in 2021/22 from 3.5 to currently 2.5 million euros.
