Two occupants injured in Izegem accident
Firefighters had to free the two young occupants from the vehicle. After that, medical personnel administered first aid and the ambulance took them to the hospital.
On Saturday evening, the driver left the road around 10 p.m. on the Rijksweg in Izegem. Before the roundabout at the intersection with Meensesteenweg and Burgemeester Vandenbogaerdelaan, it hit a tree on the left side of the road. The vehicle then turned around and eventually lay on the verge.
According to the driver’s father, the accident happened because his son had suffered a blackout. In the direction of Roeselare, traffic on the Rijksweg was also blocked for a while.
