1. FC Saarbrücken has signed midfielder Tobias Schwede. The 28-year-old comes from Hansa Rostock, where his working paper expires on June 30, and joins the third division side on a free transfer. The new contract runs for the next two seasons.
“In Tobias we are getting a player who has already proven that he can give a team a lot of impetus down the left flank. It can be used flexibly on the left lane and thus gives us even more options in our game. We are very pleased that he has decided to join FCS and we are convinced that his qualities will further enhance the team’s performance,” said sporting director Jürgen Luginger.
Swede on Saarbrücken transfer: “I’m really happy”
The left footer only played three games for Hansa last season. In total, he made 45 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga for Paderborn, Wiesbaden and Rostock. “The last season wasn’t easy for me, as it was unfortunately marked by the after-effects of a long-term injury. That’s why it was important to me that I go to a club that has complete trust in me, that is ambitious and where I can fully contribute. FCS gave me exactly this feedback and I’m really looking forward to wearing the blue and black colors in the future,” says Schwede.
