The Rolling Stones were supposed to play at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam on Monday (June 13) as part of their European tour. However, the concert had to be postponed because Mick Jagger fell ill with Corona.

As the band said in a statement, Jagger started showing symptoms when he arrived at the venue. “The Rolling Stones deeply regret the postponement of tonight, but the safety of the audience, musicians and touring crew must come first,” the band said.

In a further statement on his personal Twitter account, the 78-year-old explained: “I’m so sorry that we had to postpone tonight’s show in Amsterdam at such short notice. Unfortunately I just tested positive for COVID. We are trying to catch up on the appointment and perform again as soon as possible.”

The Rolling Stones: Anniversary Tour is stalling

The Rolling Stones kicked off their 60th anniversary tour in early June and have planned to play stadium concerts in Europe through the end of July. The band’s next gig is scheduled for June 17th in Bern, Switzerland, though it’s doubtful Mick Jagger will have recovered by then.
