Joyce Teunissen’s team led 5-13 in Vianen, when reserve players from Apeldoorn were physically attacked by the home crowd. “The atmosphere was unpleasant and their captain said it was better for us to leave the sports park for our own safety,” said Teunissen. Referee Bentum had no choice but to strike.
