2nd & 3rd US League
Transfermarkt.us has revised the market values of 642 USL Championship players and 267 USL League One players. A professional who is now under contract with Real Salt Lake City in the MLS was also taken into account.
This player is Diego Luna. The 18-year-old midfielder made the move to Salt Lake City from El Paso Locomotive FC in early June. The base fee was USD 250,000 (approx. EUR 237,500), which can increase to up to USD 400,000 (approx. EUR 380,000) through bonus payments. The US U20 international increases his market value from 275,000 to 350,000 euros.
Among those still active in the USLC, young Louisville City defenseman Joshua Wynder stood out. Louisville is considered one of the best-run clubs in the country and has begun to transfer players to foreign leagues on a regular basis. As a result, Louisville talent is on the rise. Wynder increases its market value by 250 percent from 100,000 to 250,000 euros.
Luna and Wynder are not the only youngsters who have attracted attention in recent months. One of whom you will certainly hear more in the future is Isaiah Foster (18). The left-footed player played for the youth football club Bethesda SC until February of this year, but the left-footed player made the leap to men’s football without any problems. He has scored one goal in nine games so far. According to Transfermarkt information, some clubs from Germany have already taken notice of him and would like to sign him after his contract expires in November. Its starting market value is 300,000 euros.
Karlsson takes off – Erdmann & Co. fall in value
Of course, the current leader of the top scorer list should not be missing from the update. Óttar Magnús Karlsson, currently on loan at Oakland Roots SC from Venezia FC, has scored ten goals in 14 games in the USLC. These services doubled its value from 150,000 to 300,000 euros.
The previous market value kings of the league lose, however. Juan Agudelo (from €600,000 to €500,000), Douglas Martínez (from €600,000 to €450,000), Florian Valot (from €500,000 to €400,000) and Jordy Delem (from €500,000 to €400,000) all made the move from MLS to USLC. Due to the weaker league, their values are revised slightly downwards.
The German USLC players, on the other hand, are maintaining their level. Only Dennis Erdmann is devalued slightly by 11.1 percent from 225,000 to 200,000 euros. The 31-year-old central defender moved to the USA from third division club 1. FC Saarbrücken before the season. Due to injury, among other things, he has only made it to three appearances so far.
USL Championship: The most valuable German players
Market values USL League One: Sterling falls significantly
Kazaiah Sterling is one of the biggest losers in the US third division. The 23-year-old, who was worth €2m during his time at Tottenham Hotspur Under-23s, joined South Georgia Tormenta FC from English amateur club Potters Bar Town in February. For this he completed ten games in which he got four goals. Its market value falls from 800,000 to 300,000 euros.
This is how the Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
